Every fall we recommend aerating and seeding. After the hot, dry summers, typical for the Chattanooga area, your lawn needs help filling in any bare spots. Aerating is thought by many to be unnecesary, however, it is just as important as seeding. Aerating gives your seed a place to settle away from water, wind, and animals which tend to carry your seed to unwanted areas, but most importantly, aerating allows air to penetrate the soil, assisting considerably in root growth.
